This Intercooler Reasonator delete hose fits the 2007 onwards BMW MiniCooper S. This hose replaces the two OEM hoses and a sound resonator.The purpose of the OEM resonator is to reduce the roar / whoosh noisethat can often be associated with air passing through pipe work. Byremoving this resonator with a smooth bore hose the resistance isreduced. Several of our competitors claim horsepower gains for theinstallation of this type of hose, but our own testing showed these tobe marginal so we prefer not to make such claims. We did however seechange in the torque characteristics with between 10 and 15 ft/lbsimprovement on our own test car. It is always difficult to quantifygains for a specific product as a lot will depend on other modificationsthat have been carried out.
ypically if the car is running tuned software with a free lowingdownpipe and exhaust, changes made on the intake, with the fitment ofthis hose and or a intake filter kit will be more dramatic. From adrivers perspective, after Fitting this hose on its own, we did notperceive any increase in noise, but there was a noticeable change in thewillingness for the engine to accelerate, which can be associated withthe torque improvement and small gain in horsepower.
As an added bonus this hose is available in red, blue, or black (a realstealth install) and will withstand greater temperatures and pressuresthan the original hose.
• The Forge silicone hoses in this kit have been designed to includean expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone.
• This means the hoses are suitable to be used with either modernlong-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or aircontaining oil mist.
